Kathy Kramer - Chief Executive Officer

Chief Executive Officer

Kathy Kramer joined OC Fair & Event Center in January 2015 as CEO. OC Fair & Event Center produces the annual OC Fair each summer that attracts more than 1.3 million guests. In addition, the 150-acre facility plays host to more than 150 event days annually and is home to Centennial Farm, Heroes Hall and the Agricultural Workers Memorial, Table of Dignity. Kathy is a Board Member of the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce, a Board Member of the nonprofit Hope Builders and is part of the International Association of Venue Managers Fair and Amphitheater Committee. She is a member of IAVM, IAFE, IFEA and WFA. She was recognized as one of the 100 most influential people in Orange County in 2016. Kathy comes from a diverse background in for-profit, government and not-for-profit organizations, holding key roles in the areas of strategic planning, sales and marketing, venue operations, production of major events and corporate sponsorship. Her previous position was with Northlands in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where she was the Vice President of Business Operations. She was also Deputy Director of the Phoenix Convention Center and Venues, Vice President of Convention Sales and Marketing for Century Link Center in Omaha, Midwest Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Six Continents Hotels and Resorts and Director of Sales and Marketing for Harrah’s Casino and Hotel. She holds a CFE (Certified Facility Executive) from the International Association of Venue Managers, a CFEE (Certified Festival & Event Executive) from the International Festivals & Events Association and is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).

Michele Richards is the OC Fair & Event Center’s Vice President of Business Development, leading the Sales, Marketing, Communications, Community Relations, and Creative Services teams. Michele has more than 30 years of leadership experience in a variety of fields including advertising/marketing, organizational development, sales and human resources, including over 15 years managing her own consulting practice. She lives in Laguna Niguel with her husband and two daughters.

 

 

Ken Karns - Vice President, Operations

Ken Karns oversees the master site plan and related strategic plans along with capital expenditures, facility operations, maintenance, parking, security, technology, production and entertainment. Previously, Karns was with the Western Fair District (WFD) in Ontario, Canada, where he spent 25 years in a variety of positions in events, facilities and property services. At WFD, Karns was also a part of the development and execution of strategic and master site plans and last held the title of Director of Facility Development overseeing the gaming initiatives and possible expansion of WFD to six sites. Karns has a degree in business/facility management and technical education from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, Canada. He also holds a CFE (Certified Fair Executive) from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE), He has been a member of, or sat on boards, for several business and trade organizations.

 

Adam Carleton - Vice President, Finance and Administration

Adam Carleton is the OC Fair & Event Center’s Vice President of Finance and Administration and provides oversight of accounting, finance, purchasing and contracts at OCFEC and establishes financial and administrative programs, policies and controls. He has 20 years of finance, accounting, IT and business experience in the medical, manufacturing and technology industries with Fortune 500 companies including ALCOA and PacifiCare. Adam is a graduate of Costa Mesa High School, earned his associate’s degree from Orange Coast College and a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from California State University, Long Beach. Carleton currently resides in Huntington Beach with his family and enjoys bicycling, boating and surfing.
